Moti, beaten, one eye lost, the other eye badly infected

Urgent · surgery needed this week

Moti will die this week without surgery.

Someone beat him until he lost an eye. Now infection is eating the only eye he has left. The surgery costs ₹70,000. He does not have time.

Moti's story

What happened to Moti

Moti was found on the road near Nasirabad. He had been beaten so badly that one eye was gone. He did not run from the people who found him. He could not see them coming.

The eye that is left is swollen and infected. The vet was clear with us: if the infection is not cleared surgically in the next few days, it will take the last of his sight and then it will take him. A street dog who cannot see cannot find food, cannot cross a road, cannot escape the next person with a stick.

He is eating from our hands now. He leans into a palm on his head and goes still. He is not a difficult dog. He is a dog who has had the worst week of his life and is still trusting people.

We have a surgeon ready. We have a kennel ready. The only thing we do not have is ₹70,000, and we need it this week.

“If he gets the surgery this week, he lives. If he doesn't, he won't.”

Why this week, not next month

  • Infection in an eye spreads fast. Every day it goes untreated, the chance of saving his sight falls.
  • The surgeon has given us a slot this week. If we miss it, the next one is not guaranteed.
  • Moti is in pain right now. Painkillers help him sleep. They do not fix the eye.
